FLY Fishing in Central Portugal
WildTroutPortugal
Athletic, handsome, muscular and agile - the only way to describe the Wild Carp in Central Portugal.

Central Portugal is nestled in and around mountains where waters flow through gorges, forests and meadows
into the larger rivers.  Where the rivers have been dammed -  gravel, mud and twigs on the river bed provide
the perfect habitat for Wild Carp and freshwater cray fish can be seen in abundance from May to October.

Sit back, relax and doze off on the banks of a quiet river, surrounded by stunning scenery.

All our fishing spots are patiently observed to map the movement of the fish.
Even the seasonal hotspots are not crowded with other anglers.

Your head guide will advise on tactics, type and quantity of bait you will need
and, most importantly, be there to make your fishing trip a success.

Join us in our new Venture and experience Wild Carp Fishing in Central Portugal.
Here is a destination little explored by fly fishing visitors; the crystal clear mountain waters and smooth glides
of the local streams and rivers, surrounded by stunning rural scenery and quietest solitude.

True wild browns, the ocassional rainbow and there are barbel too - on olive klinks and flashback PT nymphs.

Your flyfishing journey will take you through some stunning mountain scenery,
surrounded by historic, charming, old-fashioned villages.
Then there is the more gentle stretches of the Ceira River and its tributaries.
The Mondego River, and for those up to the challenge - the highly technical Alva River.
There is also the opportunity to fish in the Trout Lake of the Serra d'Estrela.

Your personal Guide has been fishing these rivers for over twenty years,
and now represents Portugal in National and International
Fly Fishing and Spinning Competitions.
